MDI Gurgaon welcomed its new Batch of PGDM - BA Programme on 13th August with pride and warmth. The Inaugural programme commenced with the auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony. The occasion was duly graced by respected Chief Guest Shri Abhishek Tiwary, SHRM-SCP, GPHR (Global Head, Tech Mahindra) and eminent Guest of Honour Shri Dwarakanath Patnam Former Chairman-GSK Consumer Healthcare Ltd., along with our respected Faculty and incoming students.
The students immersed themselves in this opportunity to gain pearls of wisdom shared by these eminent dignitaries & faculty. Prof. (Dr.) Chinmaya Kulshrestha, Lead EGP & Lead (Marketing), aptly cited a quote by a famous Canadian-American author, Mr. Brian Tracy “Those people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their work and to their lives will be the movers and shakers in our society for the indefinite future.” Further, emphasizing upon the power of dreams & goals in life, Prof. (Dr.) Sumita Rai, Dean (Industry Connect), cited a quote by respected Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam “A dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.” This fervour was deeply resonated by all our students. Taking the podium next, was respected Acting Director, Prof. Sangeeta Shah Bhardwaj, who encouraged our scholars to learn beyond classrooms & utilize our state-of-the-art Library. Director ma’am shared a very real example of the change our new students are capable of driving. With pride, she shared with the participants about our alumni-managed platform of Megaminds and the success the founders & start-ups witnessed in the last couple of years, all owing to their relentless efforts.
Much enlightenment and insights found a way to our participants as the Chief Guests orated some amazing lessons drawn from their personal experiences. Shri Abhishek Tiwary passionately spoke about ‘inclusive leadership’ and cited an inspiring quote by the famous 26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” These inspiring words will help pave path as the students take on a rigorous journey ahead. The stage was then graced by Shri Dwarakanath Patnam who advised the students to embrace an interesting acronym of ‘KASH – Knowledge, Attitude, Skills & Habits’ as they take on yet another educational pursuit in their lives. He further enlightened us all with his statement “A true leader is the one who can cope with change – the one who adopts and adapts. All such amazing takeaways were truly appreciated by the students and faculty.
The event was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by our Faculty-In-Charge Prof. Priyanka Vallabh who thanked the participants for entrusting MDI with their career acceleration, and expressed gratitude to all our dignitaries for gracing this event. MDI conveys our young future leaders the best wishes as they embark on an enriching journey now.
