Open Management Development Programmes (MDPs)

MDI has been a leader in providing working executives with learning opportunities through its wide range of Open MDPs. The Open MDPs are programmes offered to Executives of different companies, both public and private. The programmes are carefully designed on topical themes to create value for participants from diverse backgrounds

An Overview of the Important Programmes Conducted In 2019-20

Some of the important programmes held during the year are given in the following paragraphs, which would reveal the diversity and the depth of the various programmes.

The Advanced Management Programme [AMP] was launched in 1996 for the corporate leaders and top level executives holding board or just-below the board level positions. The Programme aimed at broadening their understanding of not only the national but also the global business scenario and to make them more responsive to competitive management strategies and transformational leadership.

The 24th programme in the series of AMP programmes was conducted during 19 th August to 15th September, 2019 in association with the ESCP-Europe, European School of Management, Paris, France, Vienna University of Eco. & Business Administration, Austria, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Frankfurt, Germany and RSM Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands, University of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium. The first two weeks schedule provided an opportunity to the participants for academic reflection, introspection and learning at the MDI Gurgaon, followed by two-week Overseas Learning Programme.

The 18th Human Resource Management Programme: An International Perspective was conducted during February 3-15, 2020, in association with RMIT University, Graduate School of Business and Law, Melbourne Australia. The first week schedule provided an opportunity to the participants for academic reflection introspection and learning at the MDI Gurgaon, followed by one week Overseas Learning Programme..

This first unique programme was held during November 13 - 23, 2019 in association with Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF) – Washington DC, USA, Hertie School Governance, Berlin (Germany), The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Tbilisi (Georgia) and The Ethics and Reputation Society (TEID), Istanbul (Turkey). The participants (senior vigilance officers, CVC officials and vigilance professionals for private organisations) of the workshop were exposed to global best practices and systems put in place for Punitive, Preventive and Participative Vigilance. This interactive and engaging anti-corruption workshop comprises of two phases spread over eleven days at MDI Gurgoan and foreign partner institutions. It aims at discussing legal and regulatory framework for corruption detection, prevention and investigation existing in the country and also in some select countries. The workshops/seminars conducted by foreign partner institute facilitate the exchange of dialogues, experience and discussion around international standards of corruption prevention.

Two programmes on Finance for Non-Finance Executives were organized during 16-20 September 2019 and 16-20 December, 2019 for the middle level managers to give an exposure to finance and also enhance the profile of the operating managers.  The programmes aimed to meet the requirements of operating managers in different functional areas to be well versed with the introductory nuances of finance.  Participants from various public sector and private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.

The programme was held during November 27-29, 2019. The programmes aimed to provide an opportunity to the participants to know about multiple perspectives of emotional intelligence and its role in personal and managerial effectiveness and effective stress management and to orient the participants with personal and social competencies of emotional intelligence through experiential learning sessions.  The participants had also got opportunity to map emotional intelligence competencies and develop an action plan and role of emotional intelligence in reducing toxicity and enhancing organizational productivity and effectiveness. Participants from various public sector and private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.

The programme was designed and organized during September 25-27, 2019. Upon completion of the programme, participants understood and appreciated all the useful insights about digital marketing. They learned as to how new digital tools are enabling customers to take a more active role in developing and branding the products they consume. Specifically, by the end of the programme, the participants enhanced their knowledge about marketing in digital world. Participants from various private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.

The programme was organized during September 11-13, 2019 for Senior Leadership and High-Potential Executives, Business Development and Marketing Teams, Leadership in Non-Profit and Service Organizations, Developers and Engineers, People who have taken High-Impact Leadership and now wish to use their personal power to drive audiences and customers to “Yes”, Motivated Individuals and Entrepreneurs seeking to develop profound leadership communications skills. Participants from various private sector organizations in India attended the programme.

The programme was organized during February 17-19, 2020 for the executives at all levels in Public, Private Sector Organizations and Government organizations and NGOs. The Objective of the Programme was to help managers and leaders acquire communication skills for building and enhancing competencies that would help them attain a competitive advantage. Participants from various private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.

The programme was organized during November 18-20, 2019 for the executives at all levels in Public, Private Sector Organizations and Government organizations and NGOs. The objective of programme is to prepare managers for leadership roles by enhancing their competencies, both at the professional and personal levels. This would help them to take a proactive approach to make the best of the challenges thrown up by the present complex business environment. Participants from various public/private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.
